Advanced Anesthetic Monitoring & Safety
At Alpha Veterinary Clinic, patient safety during anesthesia is one of our highest priorities. We are extremely passionate about maintaining high anesthetic standards and creating the safest possible surgical experience for every pet.
Prior to anesthesia, we strongly recommend preoperative bloodwork to help assess organ function and identify underlying concerns that could impact anesthetic safety. We also have the ability to perform preoperative radiographs and additional diagnostics when appropriate, particularly for senior pets or patients with underlying medical conditions.
During surgery, pets are carefully monitored by an advanced surgical team that includes a minimum of two trained veterinary nurses assisting the doctor throughout the procedure.
Our monitoring protocols include:
Heart rate monitoring
Respiratory rate monitoring
Oxygen saturation monitoring
Capnography
ECG monitoring
Blood pressure monitoring
Temperature monitoring
All surgical patients receive:
Intravenous catheter placement for venous access
Endotracheal intubation for airway protection
Continuous anesthetic monitoring with vitals recorded every 3–5 minutes
Our team is trained to uphold high standards of anesthetic and surgical care while ensuring pets remain as comfortable and stable as possible throughout their procedure.
Collaborative, Compassionate Care
We understand surgery can feel stressful for pet owners, and we strive to provide clear communication, individualized recommendations, and compassionate support every step of the way. Because we perform surgery routinely throughout the week, we are often able to accommodate a variety of surgical needs in a timely manner. Whether your pet requires a routine procedure or a more advanced surgery, our goal is always to provide safe, efficient, and high-quality care tailored to your pet’s individual needs.
